DESCRIPTION What inspired me to paint this graphite on light weight paper of this view of the monument to Alfonso XII in the Retiro Park in Madrid were the architectural and structural elements with bronze figures, columns and stairs. I chose graphite of different hardnesses to be able to represent every detail of this contrast of light and shadow between the stone and the trees that the pencil allows to draw with faithful detail.
